Full Moon Tonight - Harvest Moon 2025

This month's full moon will occur on October 6th at 8:48pm PDT (11:48pm EST.)

We're here! The best full moon of the year, in my opinion. It's Harvest Moon this October and, it's a Super Moon! Super Moon means the moon is as close to the earth as it gets making it look larger. If you have a chance to watch the moonrise before 8:48pm you'll be in for quite the sight. It's a powerful thing watching the moonrise and, a lot more convenient than catching a sunrise.

Harvest Moon is the closest moon to the autumn equinox. This is the last chance for many in agriculture to finish gathering their crops from the fields with the last bits of extra light before we head into the dark half of the year. We as hungry little humans preparing for winter are also trying to gather all the food we can before things start to freeze.

What does the Harvest Moon mean if you don't live on a pumpkin patch? This is your time to gather what's ripe in your life. Take account for all the good things that have been happening in your life, even if it doesn't feel like much. Gather your harvest of life. Think about the best parts of your relationships, projects, self care, home, kids, whatever you can. Leave the rest in the field. Leave the bad habits, short patience, poor communication, excuses for not living your best life and let them frost over as the nights become longer and cold.

We're preparing for rest and keeping the practices and people we love most close to our hearts and home. If your harvest is small this year, don't worry about it. Don't waste energy you'll need to save for the winter.
